Guidelines to ensure scientific best practice
The goal of the Guidelines of September 2019 is to further promote the integrity of science and scholarship and to establish it as a firm component in research and teaching. The new DFG Guidelines have been prompted by the multiple changes in scientific work produced by the digital transformation and by developments both in publishing and in the structures of scientific institutions and forms of cooperation
The new Guidelines were drawn up against the background of international debates on scientific integrity. The Code takes into account, as far as possible, the principle of the presumption of innocence as well as the protection of the legitimacy of the science system and of whistleblowers.
