Sounding out, discussing, communicating

Goals

The core of the Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Hamburg is formed by the interdisciplinary Working Groups. In these groups Members from different disciplines come together to work on challenging current themes in interdisciplinary collaboration.

  • The Working Groups address problems of fundamental science and issues relevant to future society

  • The findings and research results of the Working Groups are to be communicated to a broad public in the form of publications, symposia, lecture series, etc.

“The heart of this Academy beats in its Working Groups. Free, independent thought and the view outside the box of one’s own research discipline on the major issues of society are the source of creative science. That leads to unexpected ideas and inspires science and public debates.”

“What I value so much at the Academy is that in the Working Groups I can discuss issues close to my heart with highly intelligent, motivated people.”
